Hi everybody,
Does anyone has a good or bad experience with the Gimp.
I just started learning it (and photo retouching).
Is it a good choice?

see if you want to know more about it.

Hey anon. Gimpshop might be the better way to go only for the fact that the menus are set out the same way as photoshop. for a freebie program it is very powerful. If you haven't had experience with photoshop before you may find it a bit daunting.

I agree with nev. GIMP can feel somewhat overwhelming at first if you're not familiar with photo altering programs. Keep patience and really give it some time. Soon it will become comfortable and you'll be able to do some fantastic modifications to your originals. It is a powerful tool, and the price is definately enjoyable - free.
